Dehulled kernel-pressed hemp seed oil
Pressing from the hulled kernel rather than the whole seed changes the oil's character — lighter in color, milder in flavour, and closer to a neutral culinary oil.
A milder, lighter alternative
Removing the hull before pressing yields an oil with a noticeably lighter color and milder, less grassy flavour than whole-seed pressed oil — closer in character to other premium culinary seed oils, which makes it easier to use in delicate recipes without the oil's flavour dominating.
Premium food brands and chefs building finishing oils or dressings tend to prefer this grade for exactly that reason.

Common questions
- How is kernel-pressed oil different from regular hemp seed oil?
- It's pressed from the seed after the hull is removed, which produces a lighter-colored, milder-tasting oil compared to pressing the whole seed with the hull still on.
- Is this the same as hulled hemp hearts?
- Related but different — hemp hearts are the hulled seed sold whole for eating; this is the oil pressed from that same hulled kernel. See our hulled hemp hearts page for the whole-food product.
